Surprisingly exquisite antique natural Amethyst , enamel and 14 karat gold stickpin / stick pin. Classical period revival design with Greek key elements. Circa 1900. The amethyst is a vibrant medium purple cabochon, set in a frame of 14 karat gold with hammered and silky textures, and trimmed with purple clear enamel.
What at first glance might appear as a very nice amethyst stickpin becomes at second look a wonderful example of artistic refinement and love of high quality and perfectly balanced details. A masterpiece of the jewelry art. The pin measures approximately 2.5 inches long. The top measures 16.3 x 16.3 mm diagonal. Marked 14 karat gold and a maker's mark of a crescent with arrow.
